My school (in the States) was 'locked down' a couple of times. Fairly sensible word because all of the internal and external doors were locked.
Of course the word 'Locked' would have covered it.

I live and work in America so I live and work with Amercanis.
Ive seen from the UK (mostly cunty recruitment consultants) say "reach out" or I saw some cunt use the word Ulumni when looking for someone who used to work at a certain company.

The "thousand" thing only applies from the year 2000 onwards.
